The U.S. Embassy in Kathmandu is seeking an individual for the position of
Maintenance Laborer:


POSITION: Maintenance Laborer, FSN-2; FP-CC

OPENING DATE: July 20, 2016

CLOSING DATE: August 3, 2016

WORK HOURS: Full-time; 40 hours/week

NOTE: ALL ORDINARILY RESIDENT (OR) APPLICANTS (See Appendix for definition)
MUST HAVE THE REQUIRED WORK AND/OR RESIDENCY PERMITS TO BE
ELIGIBLE FOR CONSIDERATION.

BASIC FUNCTION OF THE POSITION
The incumbent performs semi-skilled manual jobs and assists skilled and heavy truck
driver. The duties included cleaning work areas & equipment, lifting & holding items,
carrying/transporting tools & material to the work sites. Incumbent will also drive
heavy water and fuel tanker when needed and as directed by his supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
NOTE: Applicants must address each required qualification listed below with specific
information supporting each item. Failure to do so will result in a determination that
the applicant is not qualified.

1. Completion of primary school (Grade 5) is required.
2. At least one year of experience assisting skilled tradesmen or heavy truck
driver is required.
3. Level I (Good Working Knowledge) speaking/reading/writing English is
required. Level III (Fluent) speaking/reading/writing Nepali is required.
4. Basic knowledge of general trades and safety practices is required.

5. The ability to perform arduous physical work is required. Must have a valid
Class B & G local driver’s license.
